ghosts of ile de re

I have been to the Ile de Re in France in the Atlantic Ocean this year. A dear friend introduced my to this island and we used to time to photograph - nothing else. Just making pictures. And it happened that I brought the neutral density filters, which I haven’t been using for quite a while. Although my remote trigger failed me, I was still able to take some long exposure shots.

A picture I had in my mind deciding to bring the filters was a photo of the bridge connecting the Ile de Re with La Rochelle. This was an excellent opportunity to flatten the ocean and make good use of the filters.

Apart from flattening oceans, these filter can be used to extend the exposure time and create motion blur - or to create ghosts.
